Chevrolet has taken another step toward the future by introducing the all-electric 2024 Silverado EV. This truck combines a traditional Silverado’s power and capability with an electric vehicle’s efficiency and eco-friendliness.

Innovative Design
Chevrolet will initially release the Silverado 4WT and RST First Edition trims, with more models to follow, including the off-road-oriented Trail Boss. A spacious four-door crew-cab configuration is standard across the lineup. The styling radically differs from the regular Silverado, particularly the pickup’s distinctive signature lighting. Chevrolet provides generous passenger space in the Silverado EV’s modern cabin. The RST offers two-tone leather upholstery and a fixed glass roof. There’s a huge storage bin between the front seats for small and not-so-small items.
Cargo Capacity
When properly equipped, the Silverado EV offers a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds. The 4WT has a payload of up to 1,400 pounds, while the RST’s maximum payload is 1,300 pounds. The 5-foot-11-inch bed has a cargo volume of 57.7 cubic feet, and the front trunk adds another 10.7 cubic feet of storage.
The RST has a unique 60/40-split Multi-Flex Midgate between the bed and cab that you can fold to increase the load floor, giving you over 9 feet of storage. Combined with the Multi-Flex Tailgate load stop, this feature enables you to load items up to 10-foot-10-inches long.
Power and Performance
The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado features the innovative Ultium battery platform, with front and rear electric motors driving the all-wheel-drive system. The 4WT has 510 horsepower, while the RST generates 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque in Wide Open Watts mode. It can accelerate you from zero to 60 mph in under 4.5 seconds. The RST sits on 24-inch wheels and features four-wheel steering, which reduces the turning radius, and automatic adaptive air suspension that can lower or raise the Silverado by up to 2 inches.
Charging and Range
The Silverado 4WT gives you an EPA-estimated range of 450 miles on a full charge, while GM estimates the RST will take you up to 400 miles. You can use a Level 1 120-volt or 240-volt Level 2 charger for home charging. With 350-kilowatt public DC fast chargers, you can add an estimated 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
Enhanced Technology
When you approach the RST with an enabled smartphone or key fob, it greets you with a unique lighting animation display. Placing information and entertainment where you need it are the RST’s 17-inch center touchscreen, 11-inch digital instrument cluster, and 14-inch head-up display. The cutting-edge infotainment system includes Google Built-In. The Silverado EV uses GM’s new Ultifi software program to provide frequent and seamless software updates.
The Chevy Safety Assist suite of driver-assistance features is standard across the Silverado EV trims. It includes a following distance indicator, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, and front pedestrian braking. The Silverado EV RST has Super Cruise with trailering, the most advanced hands-free driving system in its class.
